"Unit Size" refers to the calculation of unit size for purposes of the income and assets test. Ineligible members are not counted in the unit size when calculating the unit's benefit amount.
States were allowed to count income and assets of ineligible ABAWDs however they chose until federal regulations were issued (in April of 2001). The federal regulations state that all of an ineligible ABAWD�s assets and a pro-rated share of income and deductions are counted when determining eligibility of other unit members. TRIM3 does not capture the pro-ration of income and deductions for ineligible ABAWDs, and counts all of the ineligible ABAWD�s assets, income, and deductions when determining eligibility of other unit members.
